Gbasibe Event: SSA TO THE ONDO STATE GOVERNOR, HON, CHIEF, ENGR. OGUNWA OMONIYI OBOLI (FCA) CELEBRATES HIS GOLDEN JUBILEE AND HOUSE WARMING CEREMONIES IN A GRAND STYLE.

Although the event has come and gone, Aye kingdom will not forget Saturday 29th December, 2012 in a hurry as the landscape of the gate way to Ikale land shook to its foundation when Hon, Chief, Engr. Ogunwa Omoniyi Oboli (FCA) celebrated his golden jubilee and house-warming ceremonies. The ancient city of Ode Aye kingdom came alive amidst the festivity of the yuletide season and New Year celebration as dignified personalities from all works of life stormed the town in mass to felicitate with one of the most decorated personalities in the history of Ikale land. The golden jubilee and house warming ceremonies of Hon, Chief, Engr. Ogunwa Omoniyi Oboli (FCA) was truly a memorable experience for both young and old as it showcased Africa fashion and style at its finest.
The celebrant, Hon, Chief, Engr. Ogunwa Omoniyi Oboli (FCA) is the Araba 1 of Ode Aye Kingdom and currently the managing director of Okitipupa Oil Palm plc (OOPC), senior special adviser to the Executive governor of Ondo state on Project and infrastructure monitoring, consultant to Lagos state government on LAMATA project and lecturer in accounting department at YABATECH.

The event commenced with house-warming where clergymen of repute, family members, friends and associates gathered together as early as 7:00 am to sing praises and render prayers for the celebrant as he dedicates his first house built in his home town. At about 8:00 am, invited guests were already seated as they were more than ready to make his day memorable. Eminent personalities interviewed on gbasibe TV red carpet expressed their admiration, prayers and hearty wishes for the celebrant. Amongst the guests interviewed were: HRH Oba W.A Akinlade (Halu of Ode Aye kingdom), HRH Oba S.A Akinlalu II, JP (the Orungberuwa of Ode- Erinje), Chief, Mrs. Arikawe (yeye oge of Ikale land and Iya alaje of Aye kingdom), Chief Tola Akintemi (chairman of the day), Chief, Engr. Adejare Orina (Arogun of Aye kingdom), High Chief Raphael Adegeye (Ijama of Aye kingdom), Prince and Mrs Tunde Ibitoye, the Bolarinwas, Miss Ogunwa Olaoluwa (celebrant’s daughter) and her friend Yewande, just to mention but a few. He was described as a man with a humble spirit, intelligent, dedicated and above all, a philanthropist who is always willing to help the needy.

Opening invocation was rendered by prince elder Tunde Ibitoye who is a senior cousin of the celebrant and Chief Tola Akintemi who was not only a trusted ally of the celebrant but also the chairman of the occasion, gave his opening remark. In his speech, he reiterated the significance of crossing the fifty (50) milestones, the golden jubilee and essence of being a home owner. He further highlighted the numerous socio-economic developments that the celebrant has brought to Ode Aye kingdom, Ikale land and Ondo state as a whole.
Heart lifting remarks were made by friends, associates and representatives of several organizations and professional bodies prominent among which were: Mr Sanmy Ihimaro (Oando senior manager), representative of institute of chartered accountant in Nigeria (ICAN), Deputy Bursar Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), representative of YABATECH student union government, representative of Okitipupa Oil Palm plc (OOPC) and Chief, Mrs. Arikawe (yeye oge of Ikale land and Iya alaje of Aye kingdom) spoke on behalf of all the women in Ikale Land. In her speech she spoke extensively about how the celebrant has been most supportive to the women and their children. She said, Engr. Ogunwa has won himself many titles but she would add one more title which is BLO (balogun leyin obirin), meaning a mighty warlord behind the Ikale women.

The celebrant’s childhood friend Mrs. Adeboboye coordinated cutting of the cake after which the celebrant and his beautiful daughter Olaoluwa danced to the sweet melody of the Ilaje born but Okitipupa based Gospel musician Ayo Malumi. Guests wine and dine ad libitum. The event reached its climax when the ever articulate SSA danced to the rhythmic melody of Biripo (Ikale cultural song). The celebrant’s first and only daughter in attendance at the party seized the opportunity to apologize on behalf of her father for any wrong doing he may have done to any one in time past and said without mincing word that she wishes to put a challenge to her father; “I wish above all the titles he has acquired that someday, he will become a Pastor”. She said all these on behalf of her mother who is presently in the UK.

The celebrant expressed his heart-felt gratitude to all the well wishers who had come from far and near places, home and abroad to celebrate with him. He said; “come December 29th, 2013, he will celebrate his birthday as a pastor and further reiterated his determination not to leave Okitipupa Oil Palm plc (OOPC) undelivered and that Ondo state people should watch out for him because soonest, he is going to lead the people as their governor”.
